Overview
This Color Quiz can be used to test and improve your color sensitivity. The quiz consists of three difficulty grades:
Beginner
Intermediate
Expert
The goal is to choose the color swatch matching the displayed color hue description, from a range of colors with different amounts of that hue.
Colors are picked at random in each run, meaning that no 2 quiz runs are the same. This makes this quiz ideal for practicing and improving the color perception.
There are 8 hues used in this quiz:
Red ◉
Orange ◉
Yellow ◉
Green ◉
Cyan (brightest light blue) ◉
Blue ◉
Purple ◉
Magenta (brightest pink) ◉
Only 2 neighboring hues can be present in a color, with the following valid combinations:
Red & Orange
Orange & Yellow
Yellow & Green
Green & Blue
Blue & Purple
Purple & Magenta
Magenta & Red
For example, the color "lime" ◉ is a color between yellow and green, and thus it is comprised of these 2 hues: yellow and green. The color "warm green" ◉ is also a color between yellow and green, and it is also comprised of the same two hues. However, the color "warm green" contains more green than the "lime" color. Vice versa, the color "lime" is more yellow than the color "spring green".
In this quiz, the goal is to identify the color which contains the most of a particular hue. In the above example, the color containing the most yellow is "lime", and the color containing the most "green" is "warm green".
